Our Next Short Course...

A few spaces remain for this course beginning next week.

Join us to hear from Dr. Kate Piderman about her research on Hear My Voice: A Life Review Intervention Impacting Spiritual Well-Being and Quality of LIfe.

The course fee of $139 covers both the initial 3-hour session on October 8th and the optional follow-up session for chaplains who want to try the intervention and get feedback on their care on November 5th. We offer discounts for members of Transforming Chaplaincy research networks on Mighty Networks, Pediatric Chaplains Network members, and students. This course offers 5 hours of Research Education CEUs, inclusive of 1-2 hours of pre-reading and the time in the course itself.

More about the lead faculty:
Katherine (Kate) Piderman was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and since retirement has returned there to live. Kate’s education includes a BA and PhD in psychology and Master’s degrees in education, pastoral studies, and scripture. A Catholic laywoman, Kate served for 20 years in parishes in rural Illinois and for over 25 years as a chaplain, mostly at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Kate is an emeritus associate professor in the Mayo College of Medicine and Science and worked as Coordinator of Spiritual Research at Mayo from 2007-2025. She has more than 40 peer reviewed publications related to spirituality and health and has taught in many settings - regionally, nationally, and internationally. Trained in Ignatian spirituality, Kate currently practices as a spiritual director and feels blessed to accompany people seeking to explore and deepen their faith in the midst of the complexities of life. She loves the outdoors and times she is still enough to notice God’s abiding presence.

Kate will be joined by Beba Tata-Mbeng and Caila Rinker to ensure every student has an interactive, meaningful experience.
